Post No. 19
(Tuesday 19 / 10:37 a.m.) The time is now provided by the new atomic clock that Josh bought me yesterday at Discount Alley. I have long wanted an atomic clock but would not spend the money to purchase one. Yesterday when Amanda, Josh and I were about to leave Discount Alley, Josh got back out of the car and walked over to the bin that held several atomic clocks and picked one up and bought it for me. I am very grateful for this gift.
I have been feeling much better over the last few days except for a hideous cough that seems to keep hanging on to me. Today I am back at the drafting table working on my art. I started yesterday by putting the 30×40 piece on the table. I could not get anything going with the piece, so today I have rubbed it down with graphite and work in a slightly different manner with the piece. It was difficult to rub out the many hours of work already present on the illustration board but it had to be done. I believe my problem with this piece began when I tried to compose the entire piece at once. I now work in small blocked off sections, so as not to allow my eye to wonder about the total surface area.
The weekend was spent going to a few stores with Debbie, so she could look for work clothes. Debbie’s job is working out very nicely. It is nice to see her once again. In her past few jobs she was consumed with scripting webpages and to keep up with the ever changing web she had to study miles of code constantly. This was taking a heavy toll on her mentally. Even tho she was working from home it was if she was not here. Now I see that smile on her face that lights up the day once again. During our walk in Sebastopol Sunday I noticed a gallery just past the intersection on main street. It turned out to be the gallery of Stanley Mouse. I hope to walk back down someday and possibly meet the artist.
(4:56 p.m.) I spent the day working on the 30×40 piece, Only to end up trashing it in the end. I could not get anything going with the piece. I am in a slump and have been for some time now. The other piece stands a chance of turning into something. I have not gotten anything finished since Dream Matter No. 25 which was months ago.
